Steve Breese is a web developer with over 12 years of experience. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a double major in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Urban Planning. He began his career as a GIS Analyst for Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County. Later he worked as a Senior Systems Engineer at Nokia HERE (formerly NAVTEQ) where he got a start at developing single page applications. Next, he helped expand the functionality of United Airline's cutting edge Flight Checkin application. Then, he architected and developed web applications for Municipal GIS Parnters (MGP Inc) at their Des Plaines headquarters. In his current position, he develops performant and easy-to-maintain web applications for big-named clients.
He is always seeking to push the limits of the web by implementing the coolest HTML5 advanced technologies in his applications while providing fallback mechanisms for older browsers. In this capacity he has developed dozens of useful websites and web applications.
When I am not coding awesome web applications, I am likely running outdoors or on a treadmill. I invite you to follow my journey in my quest to be inducted into the Chicago Area Runners Association Circuit Hall of Fame
